Our Philosophy
Your mouth is connected to your body. This
is why I take a holistic approach to oral health. I
understand that if you have discomfort in your tooth, you simply
don't feel well and that affects all facets of your life.
However, I take this a step further in realizing less obvious
conditions can also have whole body effects. These
conditions include periodontal disease and damaging habits such as grinding and
clenching. Periodontal disease can distract your immune
system making one more susceptible to other disorders. In
pregnancy periodontal disease has been directly linked to pre-term low birth weight babies.
Grinding can lead to headaches and lack of sleep for your
partner.
In considering ones overall health in conjunction with their
oral health, I can tailor my treatment goals and in some cases
uncover underlying undiagnosed systemic conditions.
I believe prevention and education are the key to
maintaining good oral health. I take pride in the time
my staff commits to achieving these goals. The result is a
reduction in costly dental procedures and a happier disposition
for the patient.
Cosmetic Dentistry requires a solid foundation.
Everyone wants to have a beautiful sparking smile, and we
can provide that for you at AC Dentistry. All procedures
are done with your esthetic demands in mind. However, a
predictable esthetic outcome requires a solid foundation.
This is derived from a healthy mouth free of decay and
periodontal disease. At AC Dentistry we will help you
build that foundation through prevention, education and
treatment prior to initiating any elective cosmetic procedures
such as veneers, whitening and Invisalign.
Adrian Codel; MA, DDS
General Dentist
Dr. Adrian received his Doctorate in Dental
Surgery from Northwestern University in 2001. He spent a post
graduate year performing hospital dentistry at the Illinois Masonic
Medical Center General Practice Residency Program. Dr. Adrian
maintains a hospital staff appointment there where he also acts as
an attending dentist. His responsibilities include teaching
current residents in the clinic and in public health dentistry on the mobile dental van
which serves the Chicagoland underserved community.
Prior
to attending dental school, Dr. Adrian attended Boston University
where he earned his Masters and Bachelor degrees in Cell and
Molecular Biology. As a collegiate athlete on the diving team he met his wife. Today they are
proud parents of 2 boys.

Office Manager
Evelyn and Dr. Adrian have been
working side by side on the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center
mobile dental van for over 3 years.
